READ THIS FIRST:
Because of Wikipedia:Risk disclaimer, this is my advice on quick-moving events.
- Wikipedia is a historical encyclopedia.
- Wikipedia is not a newspaper: Wikipedia is not a news source; it is not a good source for "Breaking News".
- Wikipedia:There is no deadline: Editors get no points for making an early edit and there is no added clout here for being first.
- Wikipedia:No original research: Editors don't need to add something just because they think or even "know" it's going to happen.
- Wikipedia:Ownership of content: Even early edits are open to other editors making drastic changes.
- Wikipedia:Summary style and Wikipedia:Writing better articles#Be concise: Avoid unnecessary formalism and excessive details.
Thank you. —GoldRingChip

Template:Marquesses of Ailsa family tree
[edit]On the Template:Marquesses of Ailsa family tree template, Hugh Montgomerie, 12th Earl of Eglinton is listed as the son of Archibald Montgomerie, 11th Earl of Eglinton, when they were actually third cousins only thirteen years apart in age. 2601:249:9301:D570:100A:7B46:275A:4C24 (talk) 16:26, 21 September 2024 (UTC)

"Now a sidebar"
[edit]Why? SerialNumber54129 16:01, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for asking, because I admittedly wasn't clear in my edit summary. I'm glad you noticed because I would appreciate some further contributions to it. I converted Template:Parliaments of medieval England sidebar to a sidebar to match Template:Parliaments of England 1558–1601 sidebar and Template:Parliaments of England 1604–1705 sidebar. (If you had commented on its talk page and pinged me, more editors might have seen this and been able to discuss.) Cheers. —GoldRingChip 22:30, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
